Notice of Public Hearings to Discuss the Las Animas Wind & Solar Project

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN for a public hearings to discuss the Las Animas Wind & Solar Project
Applications with AES Clean Energy and Nextera Energy. Transmission leases and proposals will be
outlined. The applications may be viewed in the Baca County Administrator’s office at 741 Main Street,
Suite 1, Springfield, CO 81073, M-F, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. If the application is approved,
September 30, 2025 is the date set on the project. If it is not approved, the project will move to 2026 or early
2027.

DATE AND TIME OF BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS HEARINGS:
Nextera Energy Public Hearing: Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 1:30 p.m.
AES Clean Energy Public Hearing: Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 1:30 p.m.
LOCATION OF HEARINGS: Commissioners Meeting Room located at 741 Main Street, Suite 1,
Springfield, CO 81073.

PURPOSE: The purpose of the hearing is to provide the public with an opportunity to provide comment
and/or testimony regarding the action regarding these applications.
Any person in support of, or objecting to, these applications may appear at such date, time, and place
indicated above to address the County Commissioners, or may send written comments to the Baca County
Board of County Commissioners prior to the hearing at 741 Main Street, Suite 1, Springfield, CO 81073.
