MOU – Otero County

MEMORANDUM of UNDERSTANDING (MOU)
between
Baca County Public Health Agency (BCPHA)
and
Otero County Health Department (OCHD)
This MOU, entered into in good faith on 2/1/2025, is between Baca County Public Health Agency, hereinafter referred to BCPHA and Otero County Health Department, hereinafter referred to OCHD.
Purpose & Scope
The purpose of this MOU is to clearly identify the understanding between BCPHA and OCHD regarding access to disease control staff, including but not necessarily limited to OCHD’s epidemiologist and Director of Nursing (DON). Access to disease control staff shall, at all times, be contingent upon and limited to OCHD’s situation and needs at any given time, as determined by OCHD staff.
Access to disease control staff may include, but is not necessarily limited to, the following activities and functions:
1a. Support with an infectious disease outbreak;
1b. Support and guidance with contact tracing efforts;
1c. Support and guidance with public notification(s);
1d. Support and guidance on maintaining infectious disease outbreak plans; &
1e. Support and guidance with all epidemiological related aspects of public health.
Term & Termination
The term of this MOU commences on the first date written above, and shall continue into perpetuity unless cancelled by either party giving 10 days’ notice.
Prior Disease Control Activities and Functions
Let it be known that for at least 1 year prior to this signed MOU, OCHD had already been providing access to disease control staff by a verbal, mutual understanding between OCHD and BCPHA.
